dcore was commissioned for this residential project which involved the refinishing of an old, existing solid wood table plate. It also involved the design of a custom steel table base which also had to be powder coated in a specific grey and orange tone to fit together with the already existing accompanying leather chairs.
The table top had to be completely refinished to take off the shiny lacquer. Then it was stained to make it darker and take out the reddish color from it. The result was a much better and quality looking surface. After removing the old wood base and replacing it with the new steel base, the table has a completely different feel to it. It is a big advantage of buying solid wood tables. Once you have it, you can always completely remake it into something new.
